Terming the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre as the ‘root cause of all evils’, including corruption, record inflation, scams, inefficient and ill-managed governance, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Friday gave a clarion call to brush aside world’s most-corrupt Government after Independence.
“UPA has given a record scale to inflation putting essential commodities out from the reach of common masses. Presently, the rates of fertilisers, medicines, cooking oils and pulses, onions, lPG, petrol, diesel are out of the reach of common man’s pocket while the Congress has been claiming for the last decade that it is aam admi’s Government,” said Sukhbir, while addressing a public gathering at Moonak after laying foundation stones of sewerage treatment plants at Khanauri, Moonak and lehragaga. Sukhbir, who also dedicated railway over bridge at village Chhajli at a total cost of
`88 crore, said that Congress Government was looting country assets by both hands for the last decade, so this anti-people Government should not get another chance.
Describing Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal ‘Father of all welfare and people oriented schemes’, Sukhbir said though the Congress ruled the State for more than four decades after Independence but did nothing for people’s welfare. Assuring Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Sukhbir announced that remodelling and relining of irrigation channels in State would be done within a year besides installing underground pipes for irrigation purposes in Sangrur district.
