Haryana Government on Saturday said it has marked one more achievement by making Amrit Sarovars more than the stipulated target under the Amrit Sarovar Yojana of the Central Government. By August 15, 418 Amrit Sarovars were to be built in the state, but due to the tireless efforts of the government, 557 Amrit Sarovars have been made ready. Under this scheme, 75 Amrit Sarovars are to be built in each district. This information was given in the review meeting of Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal. While directing the officers to expedite the restoration work of the ponds, Kaushal said that the works of Amrit Sarovar and all other ponds should be completed within the stipulated time. There should not be any negligence in this work.
