Two months after twin bomb blast at Maur in district Bathinda, 12-year-old Ankush Kumar succumbed to injuries in ludhiana hospital on early Friday morning. Ankush, a Class VIII student, was battling for life in Dayanand Medical College and Hospital with 60 per cent burns.
The pall of gloom descended in Maur town of Bathinda as the death toll in the blast went to seven. Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh condoled the death of Ankush and expressed his sympathies with the family of the teenager.
The Chief Minister also lamented the loss of another young life as a result of the “senseless act of terrorist violence,” he added.
The blasts took place a few seconds after the Congress nominee Harminder Jassi’s vehicle crossed an abandoned car in which the explosive was placed. Though shrapnel hit Jassi’s vehicle, he escaped unhurt.
Meanwhile, the police is still groping in dark and have failed to gather concrete evidence of the culprits behind the attack.
