Criticising the Congress-led UPA Government for imposing ban on setting up of new industrial units at Punjab’s industrial capital — ludhiana, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Thursday said that NDA Government would lift all such bans on industrial activities besides boosting economic, industrial and agriculture growth in the state.
Sukhbir, addressing a public rally at village Wadala after laying foundation stone of Railway Over Bridge, condemned Congress Government’s move against Punjab to deprive State from industrial expansion. “It is unfortunate that UPA Government is giving step motherly treatment to Punjab despite the fact that Union Minister of State Manish Tewari is also from ludhiana,” he added.
He accused the UPA Government for ignoring border state of Punjab for industrial packages but providing industrial incentives to neighboring hilly states, “which shows Centre’s discriminatory attitude with Punjab”.
The deputy Chief Minister said that NDA would give a big push to industry in Punjab after forming the next government at the Centre. “The charisma of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would wipe out this government of flawed programs and policies,” he added.
Announcing tube-well connections for farmers having less than five acres of land, Sukhbir said that directions have been issued in this regard and the connections would be released within next two months.
