Sukhbir challenges Kejriwal to contest from Jalalabad

PNS

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal on Sunday asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal not to hide behind proxies and contest against him from Jalalabad in the forthcoming assembly elections.

“Kejriwal wanted to become Chief Minister from Punjab but is running away from contesting the elections…You can easily test your popularity by contesting against me from Jalalabad. Why don't you make a statement regarding this during your ongoing visit to Punjab,” said Sukhbir.

As for Bhagwant Mann's candidature, Sukhbir said that proxies could never put up a fight.

“Everyone, including Mann, knows that he is being put into the election fray to finish him politically. Kejriwal has through a series of steps including his insistence not to give tickets to any of Mann's loyalists finished him in the party. Now he wants to take Mann out of contention electorally also and that is why he is making him shift from Sangrur district to Ferozepur where people don't even know him,” he said.

“But Mann had this coming to him. He sold his soul to the devil by teaming up with Kejriwal. Now he must live with the consequences. I wish him luck from Jalalabad,” he said.
