Haryana government on Wednesday decided to start special bus services on selected routes from May 15 to facilitate the people stranded within the state due to lockdown.

The buses will ply only in Haryana but the special bus service will not be started in areas severely affected with COVID-19.

An official spokesperson said that bookings for these buses can only be done through the online portal http://hartrans.gov.in.

He said that the buses will ply from the Haryana State Transport bus stands to the scheduled bus stands.

No passengers will be allowed to board or disembark the bus on the way, he added.

The spokesman said buses passing through COVID-19 affected districts will pass through a bypass or flyovers.

A maximum of 30 passengers will be accommodated in the buses following social distancing and thermal screening of passengers will be done before entering the bus stand.

Wearing of masks will be mandatory, without which they will not be allowed to board the bus, he added.
