Slapgate scandal exposes dictatorial, feudal culture promoted by Capt Amarinder: Khaira

PNS

Aam Aadmi Party leader Sukhpal Khaira on Thursday maintained that the ‘slapgate scandal’ of Congress MlA Sukhjinder Randhawa exposed the “autocratic, feudal and coterie culture being promoted by Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh”.

He said that the incident of slapping Sewa Dal chief IS Gulati by Randhawa in full public view at Dinanagar, has completely exposed the dictatorial, autocratic and feudal culture being promoted by Capt Amarinder.

“The slapgate scandal also brings to fore humiliation being meted out to party workers by arrogant Congress leaders, considered to be henchmen of Capt Amarinder,” he said.

“The Sewa Dal chief Gulati was not only slapped publically but later the goons of Congress MlA even removed his turban, besides thrashing him. If the attitude of Capt Amarinder’s coterie is so ruthless, barbaric and atrocious towards their own party colleagues, what would be the plight of aam aadmi or ordinary citizens, once such tyrannical leaders are voted to powerIJ” said Khaira.

He said that it was also very saddening to note that Capt Amarinder, instead of taking stringent action against the Congress MlA, is pushing the matter under the carpet by taking the inquiry route, despite the fact that the slapgate went viral on electronic media.

“The country is also anxiously and curiously watching as to what action Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would take to reign in its “goonda” MlA and restore the honor of its Sewa Dal chief,” said AAP leader, adding that the AAP urged Randhawa to tender a public apology for his uncouth and inhuman behaviour, that has belittled the image of elected representatives.

“In the same breath, AAP dares Capt Amarinder to clarify why he doesn’t hold a dharna outside the sugar mill of his MlA Rana Gurjit Singh, as he owes huge arrears to sugarcane growers tooIJ”

 he said.
