Public Sector Undertaking, SJVN limited has been given the CBIP award of Best Performing Hydro Power Utility. The award was presented by Sanwar lal Jat, Minister of State, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt of India to R.N. Misra, Chairman & Managing Director at a function organised by Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) at New Delhi.
Misra informed that SJVN received this award for outstanding contribution to the nation by setting new bench mark in Generation and Maintenance, excellence in engineering and use of latest state of art technologies and smart solutions for tackling major silt erosion problems. The CMD said SJVN has been constantly achieving Excellent Rating for the last 3 years in the MoU signed with Govt of India. SJVN’s Flagship 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station has been constantly exceeding its design energy targets for the last 5 years, with its Plant Availability Factors constantly being above 100 per cent.
For its meritorious performance during the year 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13, India's largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station has been awarded Gold Shield (20110-11) Bronze Shield (2011-12 and Silver Shield (2012-13) respectively by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
