Chief Parliament Secretary in the Punjab Government, Navjot Kaur who is the wife of cricketer-turned-politician sitting MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, on Tuesday aggressively joined election campaign for BJP candidate Arun Jaitley.
She held a series of meeting at various municipal wards to mobilise BJP workers to secure maximum votes in favour of Jaitley.
She was also present in the road Show of Jaitley when he had arrived in the city few days back after the announcement of his ticket to contest election from Amritsar.
last week Kaur had announced that her husband would not join election campaign of Jaitley due to biased attitude of the party and SAD leadership, including Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
When Jaitley was announced as BJP candidate from Amritsar, MP Sidhu said that the former was his “guru,” and he would accept whatever the party decided, but made it clear that he would not contest the election from anywhere else.
On Tuesday, Sangeeta Jaitley (wife of Arun Jaitley) addressed a rally at slum area Hindustan Basti, in the favour of her husband.
