Two days after the mysterious death of a 10-year-old student of Gurukul Public School, Deha in Shimla came to light, District legal literacy Service Authority on Thursday launched an awareness drive against the infamous online game ‘Blue Whale’ and cyber crime for school children. Vivek Sharma, Secretary of DllSA and Additional Chief Magistrate, Shimla launched the drive on Thursday in the company of 500 school students at Shimla.
In his suicide note, the victim had challenged everyone, including the police, to solve the mystery of his death. While the reasons for the suicide of the student at Theog were yet to be ascertained, the incident is being seen in the light of the online game as the deceased challenged everyone to solve the mystery of his death, in his suicide note. The student was found hanging in in the store room of his house and complained in his note that nobody loved him. Posing a challenge, the deceased wrote, ‘solve this puzzle’. In another line he also wrote “Slitting veins etc is not a punishment. I will punish myself by hanging.”
