The much awaited Punjab visit of the BJP national chief Amit Shah has been curtailed by one-day. He would now be in Punjab on May 2, and leave the next morning.

“There was a change in the Shah’s schedule. He would reach Punjab on May 2 and would go straight to Amritsar instead of Jalandhar. And the next morning, he would leave for Delhi,” a BJP leader told The Pioneer.

As per earlier programme, Shah was to visit Jalandhar on May 2 where he would address the workers’ convention, and on May 3, he was scheduled to visit Amritsar to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple, Durgiana Mandir followed by a visit to Jallianwala Bagh.

“Now, he would go to Amritsar on May 2, where he would visit Golden Temple, Durgiana Mandir, and Jallianwala Bagh, and then address workers’ convention, followed by core committee meeting in the evening,’ said the leader.
