Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided to set up a printing press in Canada to publish Guru Granth Sahib in order to meet the increasing demand of the holy scripture in that country.
Disclosing this, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar on Tuesday said, due to immense demand of Guru Granth Sahib, the SGPC executive committee unanimously resolved to start printing of the Guru Granth Sahib in Canada. There is a blanket ban by the SGPC on publishing of the holy scripture by any private publisher in Punjab. The SGPC at Golden Temple has the sole right of printing of the holy scripture and it has set up an ultra modern press in Amritsar for the purpose.
