PNS

Haryana Government has decided to open government and private schools for the students studying in classes I to III from September 20.

The classes would be held while strictly adhering to SOPs issued by the Education Department, said Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar while talking to the mediapersons. He said that the schools across the state were closed in compliance with the lockdown guidelines issued due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Union Home Affairs, the students will be allowed to attend school with prior permission of the parents.

The screening of every student will be done in schools.  No student or visitor with above normal temperature will be allowed to enter the school, the Minister said.  He said that directions have been issued in all districts to ensure compliance to protocols related to COVID-19 in schools.

The government and private schools for class IX to XII had opened on July 16 while schools were opened from July 23 for classes VI to VIII in the state. On September 1, the government and private schools were opened for IV and V. The students have been given the option to attend the online classes as well.

In view of the surge of COVID-19 cases during the second wave, the State Government had earlier on April 16 ordered closure of all schools, colleges, coaching institutions, ITIs, libraries and training institutes whether government or private.
