SAD condemns Amarinder's threats to SAD leadership

PNS

The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal strongly condemned the Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh’s statement threatening the Akali leadership by saying “today the people are burning your effigies, tomorrow they will actually be after your life”.

“This amounts to provoking the people to physically harm the SAD leadership. It shows the extreme frustration of Capt Amarinder and his dangerous moves and evil designs to capture power in the state of Punjab,” said SAD secretary and spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema, strongly reacting to Capt Amarinder’s statement.

He said that no one imagined that Congress chief will think so low about their political rivals. This is a criminal act which cannot be approved by any right thinking individual in the State and the country, he added.

Cheema said that the Congress party is trying to create law and order situation in the state by physically attacking the political opponents as well as attacking and insulting the law enforcing agencies in order to demoralize the state force.

“When the state Chief Minister has himself respectfully gave a patience hearing to the agitating Congress workers and even ordered an enquiry at the highest level to be conducted by the DGP of the state in a limited time frame, then it was the duty of the Congress party to have waited patiently. But since, their motto is to create disturbance in the state, they have chosen the path of unwarranted confrontation and even threatening the senior SAD leadership,” Cheema said.

At the same time, Cheema reminded Capt Amarinder that SAD is never afraid of such “bogus threats”. His diversionary tactics will not be able to deviate SAD from the agenda of peace, communal harmony and development of the state, he added.
