A Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) activist sustained serious injuries on Friday after he was allegedly shot at by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons at Wadhaghar village of the district. 44-year-old Beant Singh was hospitalised in a critical condition at a hospital in ludhiana. The police said, when Singh was taking a walk in his village’s road, two armed motor-cycle borne youths fired three shots at him, leaving him seriously wounded. Two more unidentified youths, who were also on motorcycle, were giving cover to the assailants, they added.
