Sack Sukhbir as he suffers from mental disorder: Cong to CM

PNS

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday minced no words to say that the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal was “suffering from mental disorder”, and the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal should “sack” him.

“You have yourself expressed complete disagreement with the contention with which the Deputy Chief Minister approached the President Pranab Mukherjee for declaring the Congress as anti-national party. This is evident enough that Sukhbir Badal is not in sound state of mind and as such, he should not be retained in the government,” pointed Bajwa.

He said that Sukhbir’s removal would also soothe the hurt feelings of the people in the state who are angry at the way the situation has been handled over the last about three months.

Bajwa’s statement came after Sukhbir Badal led a SAD delegation to the President demanding action against “anti-national” Congress party. on the other hand, Badal refused to call Congress as “anti-national”, but maintained that but it had adopted a divide-and-rule policy on communal lines.

“This is not the first time that father and son had publicly differed as the day Badal senior was seeking apology from the people for his any act of omission or commission, Badal junior was threatening the people,” pointed Bajwa.

He said that this could lead to utter chaos in the government with contradictory orders being issued and the repercussions would be far reaching and too serious. “This situation defied all cannons of governance and hence, Sukhbir must be shown the door in the broader interest of the state,” he said.

PPCC chief said that Sukhbir was trying to re-define the term nationalist by terming the Congress as anti-national while it is the Akali Dal that has been raising the secessionist demand. “Moreover, he must tell the people whether signing of Khalistan memorandum, submitted to the UN Secretary General demanding Khalistan, by Badal was a nationalist activity or anti-national activity. It might be a nationalist activity for a Khalistani but not a person who is committed to the unity and integrity of the country,” said Bajwa.
