After more than a dozen Haryana BJP MlAs have lodged a complaint with the party high command against their own State Government, the RSS has now stepped in to douse the flames of dissidence and infighting in the state BJP unit.
Amid reports of rebellion by several BJP MlAs against Chief Minister Manohar lal, the RSS leadership has asked the Chief Minister to resolve the issues with the rebelling MlAs, said sources.
Sources said the Chief Minister, who is in the national capital, has met BJP and RSS leaders to quell the ongoing rebellion in Haryana party unit. Following his meeting, the Chief Minister is likely to soon convene a meeting of BJP legislative party to address the grievances of the rebelling MlAs.
The state bureaucracy is also likely to witness a major reshuffle in the coming days in a bid to reinvigorate the government and put BJP’s flagging reform agenda back on track in Haryana, stated the sources.
The Chief Minister also held a meeting in New Delhi with his cabinet ministers on Monday evening to discuss various issues.
Manohar lal, a former RSS pracharak is facing strong opposition from more than a dozen MlAs, who have lodged a complaint against him with the central BJP leadership.
Many MlAs had raised questions on Manohar lal’s leadership in the state during a meeting with party’s national joint general secretary (organization), V Satish in the national capital in mid-March. These MlAs had also complained against the state bureaucrats and also, targeted the government on huge pendency of CM announcements.
Sources said that following this, the RSS and BJP leadership has advice the Chief Minister to resolve the grievances of the disgruntled MlAs at his own level.
Unhappy with their own government, the disgruntled MlAs had earlier met Chief Minister at his residence to air their grievances in the first week of March. However, their talks had remained inconclusive.
Notably, it was just before the onset of the recently concluded budget session of Haryana Assembly that the BJP MlAs had raised the issue of being ignored by their own government and bureaucracy being running the show in Haryana.
BJP MlA from Gurugram, Umesh Aggarwal had even put his government in a tight spot in the State Assembly raising a number of issues including Gwal Pahari, pending CM announcements and change in Gurugram master plan. He had also demanded an inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the multi-crore Gwal Pahari scam.
Recently, when asked about the disgruntled BJP MlAs, the Chief Minister had claimed that there are no dissidents in the state BJP and the government is making efforts to ensure that development works are done in all constituencies of Haryana.
A day before, BJP president Amit Shah was in Kurukshetra and had called upon the party workers to take the policies and programmes of the party as well as the Haryana government to the “grassroot-level”.
