Parshottam Rupala, national vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said removing Congress-led UPA Government from power in coming lok Sabha polls had become imperative to protect the country as it had pushed the nation on the path of devastation.

Rupala was addressing a gathering during Iron and Soil Collection Drive of the party at Dhakla village in Jhajjar. The programme was organised by local unit of Iron Collection Samiti to collect the iron and soil for the statue of unity to be built in Gujarat.

Accusing the Congress government of not taking any firm step to check corruption, inflation, unemployment like burning problems, the BJP leader said the public were entirely fed up with this ‘anti-development’ and ‘anti-people’ approach of the Government and wished to see Narendra Modi as next Prime Minister of India. Rupala called upon the people to oust the Congress party from power by voting against it in the coming polls.

“Now it’s a high time to hand over the reins of the nation to Modi for betterment of all sections of the society,” said the BJP leader.

He informed that around 6.5 lakh villages across the nation would be covered under the drive to collect iron and soil and to strengthen the social harmony and unity. It was a matter of great pride for the people of Haryana that the historical drive was being launched from their State, he added.

On the occasion, Om Prakash Dhankhar, national coordinator of the drive, along with farmers of the village presented a cheque of Rs 1,00,000 along with used iron tools and soil in a kit to Rupala for the Statue of Unity.

Dhankhar said though Gujrat could have built the statue of unity on its own but Narendra Modi wanted the contribution of every Indian for the purpose to keep the

memory of Sardar Patel alive in their heart.
