Ahead of the lok Sabha elections 2014, the race for party ticket and internal rivalry among Haryana congressmen has increased.
Haryana Vidhan Sabha speaker, Kuldeep Sharma on Thursday leveled allegations against his own party's MP from Karnal for instigating the family of a Naib Tehsildar in Yamunanagar district against him. Talking to reporters, Sharma MlA from Ganaur Constituency in Sonepat lok Sabha constituency without taking the name of sitting MP from Karnal Arvind Sharma, alleged that the MP, has not only criminal background but also went to jail for a murder case in 1983.
When reporters insisted Sharma to give MP’s name, he refused and added that there is nothing to hide, everyone is aware of about whom I am talking about. When contacted, Arvind Sharma, refuted all allegations leveled by the Speaker and questioned why would he involve Kuldeep Sharma in to any conspiracy.
Sources said the fight between Kuldeep Sharma and Arvind Sharma is a political fight. As Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda wants to adjust his loyalists Venod Sharma and Kuldeep Sharma for lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha seats. Venod Sharma had earlier helped Kuldeep Sharma get Speaker's post, sources added.
Vinod Sharma who is an MlA from Amabala, is facing stiff opposition from Kumari Selja loyalists who is MP from Ambala constituency. Sharma wants to contest from Karnal lok Sabha seat in the 2014 polls, considering it as a safe seat for a Brahmin caste candidate. His close relative Kuldeep Sharma wants a Rajya Sabha berth with the help of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Sitting MP from Karnal, Arvind Sharma, had also won parliamentary polls from Sonepat in 1996 and would be a preferred choice even if Venod Sharma is an aspirant. Sources said political attack on the Karnal MP is perhaps a gameplan to change the equations in Haryana. The latest barbs from the Speaker comes as Arvind Sharma does not share a good equation with chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The Karnal MP had raised his voice against Hooda in August 2013 for irregular development in the State.
