As a part of its continuing initiatives for promoting financial awareness and education, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Chandigarh conducted RBIQ, an Inter-School Quiz on Wednesday at the Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh.
The main objective of the quiz was to create awareness and interest in the young student community about banking and finance, the history and role of RBI, other banking and financial institutions, economics, current affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the growth and progress of India over the years. In Chandigarh round, 110 teams of students from class IX to XII from various schools participated in the event. After the written pre-quarter final round, teams from six schools viz Govt Model Sr Sec School Manimajra, Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula, Carmel Convent School Chandigarh, Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh, Army Public School, Chandimandir and Govt. Model Sr. Sec School, Sector 16, Chandigarh qualified for the quarter final round on the stage. After the nail biting quarter-finals, the team from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh comprising Abhijeet Singh and Madhav Nayyar emerged victorious. The teams from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula and Army Public School, Chandimandir finished first and second Runners Up, respectively.
