PNS

Punjab Government will soon introduce ‘Patient Feedback Forms’ in all its Government hospitals across the State. Presently, a Patient Satisfaction Survey through Chandigarh’s PGI is in process.“Based on the questionnaire developed by the PGIMER, Chandigarh, the feedback format shall be developed, which would emphasise on key service delivery areas in the health institutions,” said State Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Vini Mahajan.

Mahajan issued the directions during the 14th Executive Committee meeting of the State Health Society in which progress under different health programmes was reviewed.Mahajan said that a mechanism to install feedback boxes is also being discussed and will be finalised soon. The move is aimed at putting in place more accountability and better behaviour by the staff deputed in the Government hospitals and providing better healthcare facilities to the patients, she said.

She said that based on the feedback, the government shall identify the areas and services that needed further improvement.“A direct feedback from the patients shall also help the department to analyse the specific and general problems being faced by patients and thereafter, a strategy can be devised to provide effective solutions to such problems,” she said. Mahajan said that this will not only instil further confidence in the patients visiting public health institutions, but also provide them a platform to share their views and suggestions regarding Government health facilities.
