Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike on Monday reiterated the state government’s resolve towards expansion and strengthening of allied farming with a focus on increasing net state domestic product vis-à-vis increasing rural self-employment.
“SAD-BJP government envisioned growth by promoting diversification beyond wheat-paddy cycle to bring out farmers from the debt trap besides strengthening their economy,” said Ranike while presiding over a function where he handed over appointment letters to newly selected 63 Veterinary Inspectors in Animal Husbandry Department.
He said that it is imperative for farming community to take full advantage of the allied sector options to achieve greater economic prosperity through cultivation of pulses, expansion of dairy related products and setting up of fish farms.
Congratulating the newly-recruited inspectors, Ranike called upon them to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication in their respective fields.
