PNS

Punjab Government has sought a comprehensive appraisal report from its all departments on the implementation of ‘jobs on compassionate ground’ policy within a fortnight.

Departments have been directed to furnish details of jobs provided by them to the next of the kin of the deceased employees on compassionate grounds in the last five years.

“The appraisal report has been sought from the departments to review the present policy of jobs on compassionate ground so that the process of providing jobs to the next kin of the deceased employees could be expedited,” said an official spokesperson of the Punjab Government on Thursday.

The report has been sought on a prescribed Performa within 15 days, which would include the total number of applications received, their present status, reasons for the delay in processing the case, he said.

Similarly, departments have also been directed to mention in the report those cases which have been cleared by the respective department or Redeployment Cell for the jobs on compassionate grounds, said the spokesperson.

He said that these reports would enable the Punjab Government to review the present policy and to remove the bottlenecks by amending the present ‘jobs on compassionate ground’ policy.
