Punjab requires leaders, not looters: CM criticizes Opposition

PNS

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday firmly declared that the state needs genuine leaders, and not opportunistic dealers who have plundered the state's resources during their tenure. Mann, addressing the gathering after dedicating 76 more Aam Aadmi Clinics to the public, emphasized that these self-serving leaders had disregarded Punjab's welfare and its citizens, resulting in their neglect.

Mann expressed his dismay at the revelations found in documents that seemed stained with the people’s suffering. He asserted that these leaders would be held accountable for their actions, ensuring that every rupee misappropriated from taxpayer money would be reclaimed.

Launching a pointed critique of former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, Mann drew attention to the detrimental consequences of his decisions. He highlighted that while introducing e-stamps, Manpreet concurrently authorized the printing of stamp papers valued at Rs 1,266 crore, incurring a cost of Rs 57 crore. “This decision led to a colossal loss of nearly Rs 60 crore for the state exchequer, exposing a grave lapse in judgment,” he said.

Mann expressed that his administration’s focus on job creation, employing over 31,000 youth and regularizing positions for 12,710 individuals, contrasts with the obstructive stance taken by the former Finance Minister. Taking a dig at Manpreet’s repetitive assertion that the state coffers were empty, Mann attributed the same to a ‘negative syndrome’ that hindered Punjab’s progress during his nine-year tenure as the finance minister.

Mann Dedicates 76 More Aam Aadmi Clinics to Mark 76th Year of Independence

In a big bonanza to the people of the state ahead of Independence Day, Punjab Chief Minister on Monday dedicated 76 new Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people to commemorate the 76th year of Indian freedom. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, congratulating Bhagwant Mann and the people of Punjab for this milestone, tweeted, this is a historic initiative for the people’s welfare. Punjab will not stop as the people of state have elected Bhagwant Mann government for a better future, he said.  Mann, addressing the gathering, said that this is the dawn of a new era in the health revolution to provide quality health services to the people at their doorsteps. “Besides offering free medicines to the people, these clinics are also providing service of 41 free clinical tests. This is aimed at ensuring the longevity of the life of the people of the state besides focusing on quality health,” he said.
