PNS

In another major breakthrough, Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested an associate of foreign-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike, further strengthening the state’s crackdown on organized crime.

The arrested accused has been identified as Sukhchain Singh alias Bhujia, a resident of Matti village, Mansa. The Police has recovered a .32 caliber pistol along with five live cartridges from his possession.

Sukhchain was wanted in a recent attempt to murder case in Bhikhi and has multiple criminal cases registered against him under the Arms Act and NDPS Act. Preliminary investigations suggested that he was planning to target rival gang members under directions from his handlers.

DGP Gaurav Yadav reaffirmed Punjab Police’s commitment to making the state safe and secure. AGTF AIG Sandeep Goel said that further investigations are underway to expose deeper links in the case, with more arrests likely in the coming days.

A case FIR, dated February 10, 2025, has been registered under Sections 125, 191(3), and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS); and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act at Police Station Bhikhi, Mansa.
