PNS

Punjab’s Rural Development and Panchayat officers and employees of eight districts on Monday called off pen down strike. The decision was taken after meeting with the state Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa.

“Misunderstandings, which arose few days ago between the Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill and Fatehgarh Sahib Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Jagwinderjit Singh Sandhu are resolved in the presence of the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister in the meeting,” said the official spokesperson of the Punjab Government.

The spokesperson said that the meeting was held in very cordial atmosphere at the Minister’s camp office.

The Rural Development officers assured the Deputy Commissioner that they will fully support her in all Government functioning and development works, and the Deputy Commissioner also assured full support to the officers.

After the meeting, the Rural Development and Panchayat Department Officers and employees have immediately called off the pen down strike and returned to work.

The Department employees were protesting against the alleged unparliamentary language used by Deputy Commissioner Gill towards the officers, threatening them and terming 550th parkash purb as political gimmick. On her part, the DC has refuted all the allegations.
