With Ashirwad, scholarships are just a click away from the students belonging to scheduled castes and backward classes. For, the Punjab government on Sunday dedicated a web portal — Ashirwad — to facilitate students from unprivileged sections to avail scholarship online.

To claim the scholarship, students just need to log in to www.punjabscholarship.gov.in, and fill the Performa online, said Punjab SC-BC Welfare Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike. He added that the candidates could apply for scholarship online from July 5.

Ranike said that the government is already operating a web portal for the scholarship to the student belonging to the minority community. Further, the Minister said that a user ID and a password for operating this website would be generated to all secondary schools, colleges, or institutes by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the information regarding this would be disseminated through short messaging service (SMS) and e-mails.
