Paying rich tributes to Anil Madhav Dave, Union Environment Minister who passed away on Thursday, Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh, VP Singh Badnore on Friday planted saplings in the premises of Punjab Raj Bhawan.
Recalling his association with the late Minister, the Governor said he was an esteemed colleague and exceptional MP dedicated to cause of environment and sustainable development.
In his death, Dave has left an obvious message to save environment through his Will, said Badnore. To execute his last wish in letter and spirit, the Governor plated samplings in the premises of Punjab Raj Bhawan as a mark of regard and admiration to Dave.
Rich tribute to him would be to carry forward his vision to save environment, said Badnore, adding that necessary directions have been given to the officers concerned in Chandigarh to initiate a plantation drive dedicated to Dave. “Additional trees would be planted in all over the city besides motivating people to plant more trees in their vicinity,” he added.
