Taking note of the reports of farmers’ suicide in the media, the Punjab president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Vijay Sampla on Sunday formed a three-member panel to establish direct contact with the affected farmers and families.
Sampla has asked its senior leaders to personally go and meet the families.
The panel was headed by senior BJP leader and the state Khadi Board chairman Harjit Singh Grewal, with Punjab Infotech chairman Manjit Singh Rai and BJP Kisan Morcha’s former general secretary Rajnish Bedi as its members.
The panel will start visiting the effected families from May 2.
