Punjab AAP accuses Harsimrat of lying, making lame excuses

PNS

Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday accused the Union Minister and SAD MP Harsimrat Badal of lying and making lame excuses by terming Abohar killing as a “gang war”, while another Union Minister, and BJP MP Vijay Sampla has denied the same.

Taking a serious note of Harsimrat’s statement quoting Abohar killing as just a ‘gang war’, the AAP, in its official statement, stated that it is shameful that in place of providing justice to the victim family, Harsimrat is making lame excuses and lying in the lok Sabha. “Interestingly, on the same day, another Union Minster visited the family and said to the media that the case has nothing to do with the gang war,” it added.

Sampla also accused SAD leader Shiv lal and His nephew Amit Doda for the brutal murder, and had also considered the killing as ‘most brutal attack ever reported in Punjab’.

AAP demanded clarification from the Government on Sampla’s statement as his statement “contradicted the version of police of their own Government”.

Rubbishing Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s claimes that Doda has nothing to do with SAD, AAP said that Badal family is a habitual liar and photos of Doda with Badal during Sangat Darshan program and rallies unmask his lies. “Even the office of SAD unit of Abohar is situated on the land belong to Doda,” it added.

“I will raise the issue in the Parliament and seek clarification about the contradicted statements of both the Union Ministers,” said AAP MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann.

He said that Harsimrat, being the wife of Sukhbir Badal, “has expertise in telling lies and she lied to the media at the time of Moga Orbit case as well where she claimed the she knows nothing about Orbit Transport Company”.

Mann said that the people should understand that these statements are issued to stall the process of justice in the case.

At the same time, AAP has also questioned the “delay” in Channu bus case, wherein a 12-year-old Dalit girl was killed by a bus allegedly owned by an Akali leader Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon.

Dhillon is Gidderbaha’s halqa in-charge and is considered as a right-hand man of deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, claimed AAP spokesperson and its legal Cell head Himmat Singh Shergill.

Shergill said that the police did the “most barbaric act on the night of December 11 and 12 when about 150 policemen fired about 100 gun shots and lathi-charged peaceful protestors and mercilessly pulled the dead body of Arshdeep Kaur about 150 meters with her teeth and body flesh scattering on the ground”.

“Sukhbir Badal, who is also the Home Minister, has pressurized the police to such an extent that till date no FIR has been registered against any policeman or Hardeep Singh and rather FIRs have been registered against several villagers and AAP volunteers,” he said. Shergill said that the people of Punjab have lost faith in the Badal Government and the Police.
