The Punjab State Power Corporation limited (PSPCl) has lifted the overall Championship trophy in the All India Electricity Sports Control Board Tournaments held in various parts of Country.
K.D.Chaudhri, Chairman cum Managing Director, said that there are 13 disciplines in which the performance of each Board /Corporation/ Power Utility is evaluated and based on overall performance, the Champion is declared.
There were 29 Power Utilities from India which participated in the tournaments. He informed that PSPCl secured 41 points leaving the second power utility i.e Karnataka State Electricity Board with 18 points far behind. Haryana State Power Sports Group with 16 points stood third.
Chaudhri informed that PSPCl has performed excellently well by securing first, second or third position in each of 13 sports disciplines. He said that PSPCl stood first in Hockey, Kabbadi, Badminton, lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Tug of War and Power lifting where it stood second in Football and Body Building and third in Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics and Cricket.
The CMD congratulated Sports Wing of PSPCl and said that, when it comes to competing with other Power Utilities in India, it has become the habit of PSPCl employees to win on every platform. Recent top rankings to PSPCl in India by Govt of India & CBIP on technical and financial parameters and now top position in sports too proves the prowess of PSPCl employees.
