Probe Bajwa's nexus with Bhola: Senior YAD leaders

PNS

With its president under fire for his alleged involvement in the drug racket case, Youth Akali Dal (YAD)’s senior leaders on Thursday urged the Punjab Government to order an inquiry into the nexus between Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa and alleged drug lord Jagdish Bhola.

Bhola has named Youth Akali Dal chief and state Revenue Minister Bikram Majithia for heading the drug racket — an allegation vehemently denied by him, and termed as Congress’ conspiracy.Maintaining that Bajwa had operationalised a conspiracy to provide political shield to the dreaded drug don, the youth leaders including Baljeet Singh Neelamahal, Parambans Singh Romana, and others said that law and order problem had been given political twist as a part of an attempt to win a reprieve for Bhola.

They stated that Bajwa was adopting a ploy to rescue his protégé Bhola by demanding the case be transferred to his own party’s government agencies in Delhi, like the CBI. “He sees this as his best hope for saving Bhola and accomplices and  escaping exposure of his own misdeeds,” the leaders said.Youth Akali Dal leaders said that Bhola’s arrest and the support they were getting from the Congress president had given a new dimension to the letter written by Capt Amarinder Singh some time ago in which he had clearly stated that he had proof of Bajwa’s links with the drug mafia.

"Bajwa is now trying to use the same criminal links and getting them to issue statements against SAD-BJP Government and its ministers", they said while asking Bajwa to explain the reasons for his sympathy for Bhola even as the entire state was heaving a sigh of relief over his arrest and the arrest of other major drug dons.
