Haryana Election Commission will begin the process of preparation of draft voters’ list of the Panchayati Raj Institutions from June 23.
State Election Commissioner Rajiv Sharma on Monday said that the draft of the voters’ list would be published on June 26 for inviting claims and objections.The draft voters list would also be hosted in the official website of the concerned district. After publication of draft voters list, sufficient time will be given to the public for filing claims and objections for inclusion and deletion of their names, with the District Electoral Officer concerned.
He said that the claims and objections would be disposed off by the District Electoral Officer by July 9. An appeal against the orders of District Electoral Officer can be filed by July 14 and would be decided by the concerned Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (P) by July 21.The final publication of voters’ list in respect of concerned districts would be made on July 27. The final voters list would also be hosted in the website of the concerned district administration, he added.
He said that the Commission has issued notification for the preparation of voters’ lists of Panchayati Raj Institutions in 17 districts except Ambala, Karnal, Bhiwani and Gurgaon, where the work of wardbandi (delimitation) had been completed. Now, the work of wardbandi (delimitation) in district Karnal and Bhiwani has been completed.
The Commission has issued notification for the preparation of photo based voters list of all the wards of Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads of district Bhiwani and Karnal.
The district electoral officers have been directed that while preparing the draft voters list, if zero address are found in the Vidhan Sabha list, their contents be physically verified and after verification, if contents found fictitious or bogus, the name of concerned person be deleted from the voters list, he added.
