Stressing on the need for all round development of the state which would benefit all sections, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday said that mere inquiries into the scams is not the only job of the government.

“Government is looking forward for the all round development while inquiries into the scams of previous Government will continue side by side,” said the Chief Minister, addressing media persons on the occasion of 100 days in office of the Congress Government.

He said that there have been several achievements in the past 100 days and it is difficult to name one but the top priority of the Congress Government was to ensure welfare and protection to the people. “Now the people can sleep peacefully, can talk on the phone without any worry,” said Singh, taking a dig at the large-scale phone tapping done during previous BJP rule.

The Chief minister added that Congress government had made the poll manifesto as

policy document and it is being implemented.  “With the help of young and experienced Ministers, efforts are being made to take the step forward,” said Singh.

Sounding hopeful about the financial package, Chief Minister said, "It was informed in the Assembly and now I repeat myself when I say that ; some package is likely to be given to the State which can be in the form of any grant". He said that State Government had sought financial package of `7500 crore and is hopeful . On the issue of PTA and Para teachers, Chief Minister said that a policy is being framed and a committee headed by Chief Secretary is being entrusted with the job of framing the  policy.

Singh also added that a new transfer policy is being framed and is the main agenda of next Cabinet and counted on number of achievements of the current Congress Government and pledged that those found guilty in any scams or irregularities will not be spared. “Every investigation in the scams will be taken to logical conclusion,” said Singh.

He added that Vigilance bureau is handed over the chargesheet of Congress party which was submitted to the President of India and the Anti-Corruption Bureau has been asked to probe the

allegations leveled

expeditiously.
