The Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab on Thursday took a serious note of Amritsar being lagging behind in the list of clean cities of India.
AAP leader and comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi said that Amritsar being the religious and historic city is a respected place for the Punjabis and people all across the world. But because of the irresponsible behaviour, personal enmities of city politicians and mismanagement, the city has listed on the 49th spot in the list of ‘Swachchh Sarvekshan-2016’.
Ghuggi said that by not doing enough for cleanliness in the city the politicians have disgraced the Guru Sahibs and the hundred of martyrs who have given their lives saving the great city. He said that Punjab Government has failed to resolve the issue of dumping ground in the city and is responsible for the disgrace to the city.
lashing at MP from the city and President, PPCC, Capt Amrinder Singh, the AAP leader said that despite of his tall claims, the representative of the city has not even attended a single session of lok Sabha and failed to raise the demands of the city residents. He asked Amrinder to clarify his stand on the issue of city being at 49th spot in the list of ‘Swatch Sarvekshan-2016’.
