To review the security arrangements for the visit, the Garhwal range Deputy Inspector General of police, Pushpak Jyoti presided over a briefing attended by senior police and administration officers. The DIG directed the police personnel deputed for the VVIP visit to reach their assigned place of duty three hours ahead of the scheduled time and get necessary information about their task.
They should properly check the surroundings and inform their seniors in case they come across any suspicious item. An alert eye should be kept on the persons meeting the visiting dignitary and only the listed persons should be allowed to enter the programme venue after anti-sabotage checking.
The nodal police officers were directed to ensure that the personnel are briefed properly about their duty and that those on duty do not leave their post to congregate at one place.
