Circle Office of Punjab National Bank organized Rajbhasha award distribution function wherein employees who excelled in the various Hindi Competitions were awarded. The function attended by large number of employees along with senior functionaries, was presided over by Field General Manager JK Gupta. Rajeshwar Goyal, Circle Head of the Bank, in her inaugural address, praised Hindi for its qualities, it being our national identity, language of our culture and philosophy as well as the most preferred medium of mass communication in the country. Our National language Hindi, taking the seat of authority as Official language of the Union is a matter of pride for us. Thereby, it is our duty to use Hindi in our official work as well as social interaction.
Goyal emphasized that banks are a public institution which have direct contact with the masses. Hence, for us, there can be no better medium as compared to Hindi for improving our business. On the other hand, banks are supposed to play an important role in implementation of poverty alleviation schemes floated by Government of India and Reserve Bank of India.
