Hitting out at the ruling Congress, Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon on Sunday said that it is clear that people of Chandigarh have lost faith in Congress and they have started looking for a pleasant change in the political system.
“The truth can be gauged from the fact that more than 300 people from Congress led by Ishrat Hussain of Maloya village joined the city unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday. Most of these people are related with handicraft business and come from different villages of the city,’ said Tandon. Tandon said, “It is unfortunate that Chandigarh remained on the country’s centrestage recently due to the corruption of local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal. Following the unearthing of the corruption scam, Bansal had to resign from the Railway Ministry. He has been MP for four times but he could not develop the city. He has been cheating people with his false assurances. If you check the Congress manifestos, you will find an endless list of unfulfilled promises”.
“Now, the country is witnessing the wave of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. India needs a good governance and development in every sector which will become a reality in Modi’s rule,” Tandon added.
