Punjab Government would review the complaints submitted by the NRIs during ‘Sangat Darshans’ held in December.

The State NRI Affairs Minister Jathedar Tota Singh on Tuesday said that he would conduct comprehensive review of status report submitted by various departments and district administrations regarding complaints submitted by Non-Resident Indians during ‘Sangat Darshans’ held in December.

To ensure speedy justice for the NRIs, the State Government was also setting up special courts.

“Punjab is the only State that has set up a separate department to look into NRI complaints, apart from the NRI police stations that have proved successful. Fard Kendras set up by the State Government are also proving beneficial for the NRIs, who could now easily get records of their land,” said the Government spokesperson.

He said that NRI Affairs Minister, would preside over a review meeting on April 24 at Moga Deputy Commissioner Office in which the heads of the departments concerned would also participate.

In the meeting, Minister would review the complaints concerning the NRIs

which were left pending at the NRI Sangat Darshan on December 28, he said.

Spokesperson said that the Minister has already

instructed the Deputy Commissioners to put

up the pending complaints before him in the

meeting.
