PAU, Aston varsity to jointly develop waste management methods

PNS

To encourage and stop the practice of burning rice straw, Punjab Agriculture Department is providing huge subsidy to farmers for purchase of Agriculture machinery and equipment for proper disposal of the straw. In a step towards the same direction, a MoU has been signed by Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), ludhiana, with UK-based Aston University for a period of five years to develop waste management methods.  The MOU has been signed between PAU Vice-Chancellor Baldev Singh Dhillon and Robert Berry, an expert of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Aston University, UK.

Both PAU and Aston University would work jointly on the project to explore transformation of rice-straw and other wastes into useful products.
