Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday assured Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma that State’s request to open a Sainik School at village Khudana in district Mahendragarh would soon be considered. Ram Bilas had called on the Union Minister, in New Delhi on Friday, for approval to open the Sainik School. Sharma said that the youth of Haryana have special inclination towards Army.

Although the State has merely two per cent of the total population of the country, every tenth soldier in Army is from Haryana. The opening of this school would benefit not only the youth of southern Haryana, but of the entire State, he added.

At present, there are two Sainik Schools each at Karnal and Rewari. The State Government has already announced that the third Sainik School of the State would be opened in village Matanhail of Jhajjar.
