Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday said that overwhelming and peaceful response of rural voters for zila parishad and block samiti elections had signaled landslide victory of the SAD-BJP coalition.
Congratulating the Punjabis for rejecting Congress and its “declared and undeclared allies” in the elections, Sukhbir asked the Congress leaders to apologise to the people of Punjab for their totally baseless and unwarranted propaganda.
“People of Punjab since last 30 years have understood the game plan of Congress which raises the spectre of violence to invite undemocratic central intervention,” he added.
He said that Congress party was banking upon consolidating small proxy parties in these elections but their coming together on one platform exposed their unholy alliance before the eyes of people.
“We have already chalked out a development perspective plan for next 25 years and with the blessings of people of State, we would soon realise their dream to make Punjab number one State in the country,” he added.
