Opposition charges Govt of pushing Hindutva agenda

PNS

The opposition parties—Congress and INlD—on Thursday accused the Manohar lal Khattar Government of pursuing the Hindutva agenda in the State and duping the farmers in the name of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY).

Congress MlA Karan Singh Dalal while speaking during the Motion of Thanks on Governor’s address in the State Assembly, alleged that the BJP Government is pursuing the Hindutva agenda by bringing in a multi-crore project to revive Saraswati river.

The ruling BJP is also playing divisive agenda of saffronisation, the Congress leader alleged. He also said that it is not Saraswati but Khattar Saraswati, which the BJP Government is reviving.

Terming the Governor’s address as disappointing for the people of Haryana, Karan Dalal said that a large number of announcements made by Chief Minister in various constituencies are pending. The announcements which are not feasible should be withdrawn by the State Government and the Chief Minister should apologise to the people of Haryana for making wrong announcements which cannot be fulfilled, he demanded.

lashing out at the BJP and INlD on Sutlej Yamuna link canal issue, he said that both parties are doing politics on this issue and are not serious at all. Taking a dig at INlD’s February 23 call to dig SYl at Punjab, Karan Dalal said, “JCB machines are used to dig a canal but you had carried hand-held agricultural implements to dig SYl canal. These hand-held agricultural implements were later used to dig a road there”.

He also demanded an inquiry into the purchasing of huge inventory in the Power Department.

Responding to this, Chief Minister Manahor lal said, “It was during the time of Congress Government that `500 crore inventory was purchased in Power Department. `70-80 crore inventory should be there at any time but such a large stock was purchased by Congress that would not be finished in next eight years.”

The Congress leader also alleged that the State Government is duping the farmers of Haryana under the PMFBY.

Earlier, the INlD’s Jasvinder Singh Sandhu, which speaking during the discussion on Governor’s address had also accused the BJP Government of ignoring the farmers and said that loot is going on in the name of PMFBY.

Sandhu also hit out at the Chief Minister for not taking time from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet a State delegation on SYl canal issue. Independent MlA, Jai Prakash while taking part in the discussion raised the water sharing issue and made an appeal to political parties to refrain from politicizing the SYl issue.
