Now, protesters to meet MPs, MlAs

PNS
Sitting on an indefinite strike from past 17 days in case of funds transfer, the employees of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University have started a new campaign — Har Dwaar-Haq Ki Pukaar.Under the campaign, the varsity employees will meet elected MPs and MlAs, including those of ruling parties, and submit memorandums requesting them to intervene in the matter of funds transfer from University’s corpus fund and to raise their voice against the Government’s decision.
Under the banner of IKG-PTU Mulazim Front, the employees believe that with the help of Ministers, the Government will forcibly review its decision in
near future.Mulazim Front is sad over the non-interference from the University’s governing body since last 17 days of strike. That is why, they have now decided to “knock every door, so that the wise decision will be taken against or in favour of the Government”.
Mulazim Front president Kamlesh Kumar said: “From the last year itself, when Government decided to establish second state technical University in Bathinda, the Mulazim Front is opposing the decision and is demanding to review the decision from very beginning.”“But the State Government has not paid any heed to our demands. If there would have been experts from academic background in the committee on this issue, then I’m sure the condition to sit on an indefinite strike would not have arisen. Government has not contacted us even once and remained stubborn over the decision,” he said.
logically, he believed that if Government has not paid any attention towards this issue till date, “it will definitely listen to the MPs and MlAs of both ruling as well as opposition parties. Various committees of employees have been formed according to their constituencies and they will complete this work of submitting memorandums to the respective Ministers”.
He said from in last three days, memorandums have been submitted and issue has been discussed with Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann (AAP), Jalandhar MP Santokh Chaudhary (Congress), Cabinet Minister from Amritsar Anil Joshi, independent leaders from ludhiana- Bains brothers namely Simranjeet Bains (Atam Nagar) and Balwinder Bains (ludhiana South), Congress MlAs Bharat Bhushan Ashu (ludhiana West) and Surinder Dawar (ludhiana Central).
“We have received a positive response from them and I believe that they would take this issue as it is related to the education’s development and would help in stopping the transfer of funds,” he said.
