The court of Tribunal constituted under Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 has decided that the court would visit homes of senior citizens who cannot attend court due to their age or other related factors for hearing their cases.

Chairman of the Tribunal and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dharmender Singh said that a decision to this effect has been taken as it becomes difficult for some elderly persons to move around in their advanced years. In case of complaint received in such cases, the senior citizen would not have to come to the Tribunal for redressal of their grievances and the Tribunal would visit their homes in such cases.

Moreover, in two of these cases, the Tribunal has directed for installing CCTV cameras to keep an eye on the behaviour of the children towards their parents. Chanda, a resident of Old Faridabad had registered a complaint against her son Sonu and Vikramjit, resident of the City has got registered a complaint against his son Arjun Singh. In both cases, the court has directed to install CCTV cameras in the houses of the sons. Also, the case of Chanda was settled amicably.

In another case, Nandlal, a resident of NIT had registered a complaint against his sons Fakirchand, Sanjay, Sagar and Shyam demanding maintenance allowance. The court ordered all four sons to deposit Rs 1,000 each in the bank account of their father every month.
