PNS

Haryana State Election Commissioner, Rajeev Sharma on Tuesday said that the process of filing nomination papers of all the wards of 21 Zila Parishads in the State would start from December 23 to 29 but their block wise elections would be held in three phases i.e. on January 10, 17 and 24.

Sharma said that phase wise time schedule is not possible in the case of election of the seat of Member Zila Parishad, as the jurisdiction of several wards of Zila Parishads falls within the jurisdiction of two or more than two blocks. Therefore, a decision to this effect has been taken. In view of the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, afresh process for the reservation by way of draw of lot is to be conducted in Block Hassanpur of district Palwal, which requires some time. The State Election Commissioner added that IAS and HCS officers have been appointed as election observers in all districts of the state in order to conduct the 5th Panchayat General Elections, 2015 in a free, fair and transparent manner.
