PNS

Ruling out any threat to the coalition Government in Haryana, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Thursday said that after the Baroda bypoll, the coalition Government has strengthened as its candidate Yogeshwar Dutt secured 14,000 more votes than the previous Assembly election in 2019.

“The coalition Government is stable and will complete its remaining tenure comfortably,” he added.

Reacting to the outcome of Baroda by-poll in Chandigarh, Dushyant claimed that voters of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) had voted for Yageshwar. Everyone knows that in many villages of this constitueny wherein voters who used to vote for Congress candidates in previous elections, have voted for Yogeshwar in bypoll.

Asked whether Yogeshwar’s loss was due to JJP’s votes not being transferred to BJP, Dushyant said that with the hard work of leaders and workers of both the parties, Yogeshwar secured above 50,000 votes. We have gained our votes in this bypoll and for this we have congratulated workers of both the parties.

The Deputy CM said, “We accept people’s mandate which was in favour of Congress party candidate Indu Raj Narwal. Congress party’s candidate has been winning in this constituency for the last three consecutive Assembly elections".

Dushyant further said that any party needs to secure 46 seats in the 90-member Haryana Assembly to form the government. The Congress had 30 MLAs, which has increased to 31 after Baroda polls. Despite loss in Baroda, there is no threat to the coalition government in the State, he added.

“We will work together for the next four years and our candidate will win from Baroda constituency in the next election. All the promises made by both BJP and JJP leaders will be fulfilled at a faster pace,” he added.
