No CCTV, no exams: CHSE tells colleges

PNS

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has directed the junior colleges to expedite the installation of CCTV cameras ahead of the annual Plus Two examinations scheduled to be held from March 7.

In a letter to all the college authorities across the State, CHSE Controller of Examinations Bijay Kumar Sahoo asked the college authorities to submit CCTV installation status report by February 20.

If the college authorities fail to meet the deadline, the examination centres will be cancelled, the CHSE warned.

On the other hand, making changes in the selection of members in central and zonal squads, the CHSE has decided to include Lecturers in both the squads to be formed for smooth conduct of the Plus Two examinations this year.

The CHSE directed the Principals of all the State-run, Government-aided and Non-Aided Colleges to send the list of Lecturers to be part of the squads by February 11.

This year, there will be four-tier squad system to curb malpractice and for smooth conduct of the examination, said Sahoo.

According to reports, the CCTV cameras have not been installed at around 350 colleges despite repeated warning from the CHSE.

Even as only one month is left for commencement of the annual examination in Science, Arts and Commerce streams, the negligence by the college authorities to follow the CHSE directive regarding the installation of the CCTV cameras might create problems for the examinees.
