PNS

Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Kanwar Pal Gujjar on Wednesday administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected MLA of Jind Assembly Constituency, Krishna Midha, here.

BJP’s candidate Krishan Middha had won the Jind Assembly seat, trouncing his nearest rival Jannayak Janta Party’s Digvijay Chautala by over 12,900 votes in the bypoll.

The bye-election to Jind Assembly seat was necessitated following the demise of Hari Chand Middha in August last year. INLD’s Hari Chand Middha had represented the Jind seat for two consecutive terms in 2009 and 2014.

Talking to mediapersons after the swearing-in ceremony, the Speaker said that now the number of BJP MLAs in the Vidhan Sabha has increased to 48.

He said that as an MLA, Krishna Midha should raise the problems of the public with the government and it will provide full assistance to him.
