To include more backward classes in the Central list of backward classes for the State of Punjab, the National Commission for Backward Classes would hold a public hearing on October 25 at Punjab Bhawan, with NGOs or Associations from the backward classes.
The castes and communities in respect of which public hearing session would be held are Re, Kuleen Brahmn, Tamboli, Sanyasi Sadhu, Sanyasi Bawa, Buzroos, Mehra Rajputs, Soni Rajputs, Dhiman, Gujjar Muslim, Chhippi, Chimpa, Kangohra, Thathora and Tampora,” said a spokesman of Scheduled Casts and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
He said that the associations or organisations and individuals of the above castes, sub castes or communities are requested to appear before the Commission to furnish all available information or data regarding them.
Any other association, organisation or individual who have any view to express in the matter pertaining to the aforesaid castes or communities may also appear before the Commission, added the spokesman.
